A Happy House Christmas

christmas cushions

Its getting very near to december and here in the happy house we have been getting the place all decorated for the holiday season…This year above all years, I have really noticed the dark nights and I hate them! I suppose it is because I have more to do in my day…and I need the light to do them!   Gardening has become a true love of mine as is visiting my Mum, we have such a lovely relationship now and I want to go and visit her often…

So the fact that the day light is getting shorter…is not fitting in with my routine at all! so decorating for christmas and getting lots of twinkly lights up is helping me get used to the whole business! (Roll on Spring she says!)This year it has been a combined effort…Freddy has been buying lots of modern decorations and I have put out the vintage pieces that I can’t live without…First of all we hardly had any red! but eventually I got my way! ( I nagged and nagged! lol!) and as soon as the red was added it felt right to me…I just cant live without it!So as you can see in the pictures I have got my way quite a lot…I have told Fred that if he wants to get rid of the red in the New Year that we are going to have to have a ‘Divorce’ he just laughed! but I am adamant…(did I just spell Adam Ant? lol!) Ok Ok so I am not going to leave the deocrations up…but I am going to bring down, from the loft, all the red vintage pieces that he had thought, I had sold! hahaha! me not silly…as if I would of sold any of it anyway! šŸ˜‰

So I will leave you with the first set of my Chrimbo Pictures…and I hope you enjoy them!

How wonderful it all looks!! I'm with YOU on these shorter days – I hate it. Well, I hate winter. I'm a summer girl šŸ™‚ I feel like going to bed by 5 most days haha SO I HAVE to be working on projects (yes, indoors now) or I fall right to sleep. I'm a little sad since this year none of our kids will be home for Christmas and I was THINKING of not really decorating BUT, I went ahead and did it. I'm glad I did – it's helping me feel a little better šŸ™‚

Hi. I am brand new to your blog (as of about 10 minutes ago, actually) and I LOVE it!! If this is your home decor, you rock, girl. I enjoy eclectic and you have really captured that here. I am sorry to read about your husband's struggles and pray the new home will be very accommodating for you both. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oh, what a fun, whimsical colorful Christmas you have there. To know me is to know that I live in a neutral universe – but I sure love and appreciate the fun-loving colors of others. I think you nailed it with your touches of red!I haven't begun Christmas decorating yet – hired my niece to help me tomorrow as I haven't been up to the task alone this year. This is one of the few Christmases that everything wasn't done the second Thanksgiving was over – which is a week ago here!!!!! YIKES!Coming over from Nana Diana Takes a Break. Glad you are back blogging. Stay "Happy!" : – )

Red is a great vibrant color. Especially this time of year when it gets dark earlier. Did you make your lovely wreath? I love vintage Christmas decor, you always had fun stuff. Erika

Hi Erica – Thanks for your comment. No I didn't make the wreath, lovely isn't it! I bought it at 'The Range' I have a similar one that I have twirled up the banisters…they were very reasonable too, I think the wreath was Ā£20 and the twirly banister one was about Ā£15 šŸ™‚ Love Happy x
