I know I have been blogging a lot lately regarding the kind of furniture that I like! I have been looking on the web and finding lots of really lovely furniture shops and this one happens to be another one that I am going to have to list as one of my fav's.
french shabby chic drawers
The Trade Furniture Company has been in business now for 8 years, they are based in West Yorkshire...and it is no surprise that they have notched up many famous interior design clients, what with their vast array of fabulous home furniture...
ornate noir book case
I have taken some of the pictures from their site to show you the kind of style that I would purchase from them...My roots are French Country Chic, what with all the enamel that I have collected over the years, so the Etienne collection would fit fantastically into the Happy House!
industrial wheeled chest of drawers
The Industrial collection has some of the quirkiest pieces I have seen in a while, there is also furniture for every kind of style that you could possibly want...from the most unusual to the traditional...

So wherever you live, may it be in a state of the art Designer Apartment to a Quintessential English Cottage The Trade Furniture Company will have something for you...

At the moment they are running a Summer Sale...Their prices are very competitive anyway, especially for the quality and workmanship of the materials they use....no MDF here ;)

...And another little fact to throw into the mix, is that they are the official supplier for Peter Andre'a 60 Minute Make-Over...so if you have watched it, you will already know the lovely items that they use to decorate the rooms with...so if I haven't convinced you already...Head over to their site and if you can't find something to buy now, bookmark their site for future reference, as I am sure, like me, you will already be in love!

Bye for now my lovelies x

happy loves rosie on Television
I have been out and about lately, furniture shopping with my Mum and also my Son Daz, they both have cash to splash, unlike me, who has always liked to buy second hand! A bit of a bargain hunter is me! Daz has recently bought a 50 inch Television for his flat...I can hear you all gasping at the thought of how big this TV is!...yes it is humongous!...we have a van type car and it just about fitted in there, when we bought it! Anyways...he has been looking for a Television stand to put it on...so as you do I looked on Google and found Furniture Plus, they sell the most gorgeous oak furniture...Daz is like me though, he likes the painted white wood furniture and is seriously thinking about investing in the lovely Television table above...
 white nest of Oak Tables
My Mum on the other hand loves the more traditional Oak unpainted furniture that they also sell, but recently she has had her Living Room decorated and wanted a new nest of tables and she has also fallen in love with this set above from the same store!

But as for me...I am sooooo in Love with this...white oak chest of drawers
...Beautiful Chest of drawers...oh honestly! What I wouldn't give for these pieces of furniture! Now don't get me wrong! I still love my old vintage furniture...but I am also lusting after these pieces! I feel my life would be so organised with these drawers in my life!

...And as for this dresser! *sigh*
Need I say more...!

A gal can dream can't she!

What kind of furniture do you like to have in your home?
Do you like old or new?
Or a mix of the two?

Bye for now my lovelies xxx

craft table mixed media tim holtz
My Freddy has a new craft studio!
It's actually sited in our bedroom next to the bed!
He has been confined to the bedroom lately, as he has torn his tendon in his leg making
getting around rather awkward!
messy mixed media craft
...and you know how he loves his art...so I decided to move one of our wardrobes sideways, facing the bedroom door, so that it created this Narnia space...all 4ft of it!...we were then able to fit a lovely old sturdy dressing table like these from Fortune Woods, in the gap creating lots of storage and work space...
craft room space
I then made about 150 trips, up and down the stairs, carrying all of his many many craft materials into this creative Narnia cubby hole, where everything is to hand for him.

We are off to the hospital next week to see about him having an operation and if he does, (which is highly likely) he will have to have his leg in plaster...so this space will be well worth it then!
craft room bedroom space
I managed to get him a few bargains for the space too!
The Luxury office chair was bought for £20 on Ebay and 106 artist felt tips were bought for £10 at the boot sale, normal price would have been well over £200!

His artwork is displayed on his flickr account if you are interested...
What unusual decorating have you done lately?

June Haver and Betty Grable, 1945

June Haver and Betty Grable, 1945

I happen to use a lot of bobby pins, what with my hairstyle and all, whether I am wearing a quiff or creating my victory rolls...a bobby pin is never too far away from my reach...Having said all that, the worst thing about these clever little grips...is that they seem to be scattered all over the place and especially on the floor!...wherever I go, there is a trail of grips behind me!  So whilst gathering them all up and placing them on the table next to where I blog...I thought to myself...i wonder how I could store these a bit better! so I have found these brilliant ideas that I thought would be good to share with you...
bobby pin magnetic strip holder
This is such a cool idea...attaching a magnetic strip to your wall or perhaps on the inside of the drawer or under a table...hopefully the magnetism will pull them up off the carpet to save you the job! ;)

bobby pin handmade earrings

Or what about making them into these cute earrings or the divine necklace below...such original ideas, for which I am sure you would get a lot of comments from your friends and family! and you will never be without one if you are out and about....!
bobby pin handmade necklace

green bobby pin tic tac holder
Now here's a nifty storage solution and a great excuse to go and eat a lot of TIC TAC's, especially if you have a lot of pins...you could even get your nail varnish out and paint them in shades of green like this clever idea above!...You could have a box for different colours...great fun! get the kids involved! oh perhaps not little kids! they might eat them! (the grips not the tic tacs)
pretty hairstyle full of clips and bobby pins
Or how about, as and when you find them, just sticking them in your hair, like so! (above)
retro vintage magazine advert for hoover
Just whatever happens DO NOT try and hoover them up!

Because no matter how much you try...

Even if you sweep over them 100 times!
You will always have to bend down and pick them up in the end!

You soooooo know it! ;)

Have you got any good tips for bobby pin storage?

I have that 'want to make something' feeling...so I thought I would get inspired over at Pinterest...and you know how addictive that can be!
It wasn't long before I realised I was pinning a theme...a hankie theme!
I have collected a lot of hankies in the past, but none are as nice as some of these beauties in the pictures...no wonder they have been made into other things, they are just too nice to blow your nose on!
Pretty bunting made out of hankies are ideal for a wedding or a summer fete.
This is so cute and perfect to hang in your bedroom with some lavender bag tucked away inside to sweeten your room.
Just look at the beautiful designs on this quilt...
it makes me want to attempt a quilt...but I need these hankies too, just look at them all...so gorgeous!
...and look at this clever idea for a little baby girl tunic, so sweet and chic and would be so easy to whip up in a few hours!

I hope with the help of these crafty ladies pictures, i have inspired you to get making something today...and if you have any spare hankies...send them to me  you now know what to do with them ;)
