How do you like my Ercol chair make-over?
I found this wonderful piece at a local Car Boot Sale.. and
I did this in an afternoon a few days afterwards...and have been meaning to show you it for a while now!

As you can see..this is what it started out like...I just painted the chair with one coat of Annie Sloan's white chalk paint, but left the arms as they are, as I rather liked the aged worn look of how many peeps had sat in it!

I found the material from my vintage stash, and thought it would be an ideal piece to cover the cushions with!
So armed with a needle and thread I got to work sewing the material on to the chair...and voila!

This is how it turned out!

Amazing what you can do! when you put your mind to it!
What crafty projects have you been up to lately?

  3. Well I must say, I absolutely covet your chair! Good job. I've been making dresses, crocheting bunting, knitting baby clothes for new grandaughter, who's not here yet but should arrive in approx 3 weeks' time, painted my 70's pine bannister with white eggshell but I wish I'd thought of Annie Sloan's paint before I did it, oh and shabby-chic'd a huge mirror that I bought for a fiver from a local furniture recycling place. I think that's enough to be getting on with!

  7. I have a group of friends coming to visit me in July, so I am redoing a bunch of old chairs into Thrones, worthy of the Queens of Our Own Lives that we are!
