Woo Hoo here i am my lovelies...so sorry for my late arrival today (I am writing this at 1.30pm) all due to the fact that I {stupidly} said YES to picking my son up at SILLY O'CLOCK!!!! {3 am} from a Disco Bar in town!

I then hit the sack around 3.45am and couldn't get to sleep...HOT HOT and HOTTER was how I was feeling...cover on and cover off...Well if
i was training for the Bed cover Olympics...I would of definitely got a medal!

Honestly I am getting loads of symptons of different ailments and with the help of the Doctor internet, I am able to diagnose myself without any qualifications whatsoever...Even Freddy said to me this morning...don't you have a lot of things wrong with you lately!...(I gave him one of those glances that said...you try being a woman!!!!!!)and promptly left the room before I KILLED HIM! I cried!)...Goodness Gracious this whole menopause milarkie is half playing its curse on me.

For at about 8am this morning I am sure I was having a baby!...I was having contractions! honestly!...oh the pain! they were coming in waves (as they usually do! lol)...I was in a panic...OMG how on earth am I having a Baby...surely not at my age (102!)....I was sweating and worrying all at the same time...and then I realised, it was just a very big case of {eating that yummy tiramasu all to myself} Wind! ;))))

I don't know why I am telling you all about this in the middle of a giveaway lol! but thats me! I am a talker...I feel responsible for silences and all that!...I talk about the most silly things and even make myself laugh!  I am actually supposed to be tackling my mountainous Ironing pile right now...but I would sooner chat with you!

I feel better for deleting my facebook, I am getting so much more done, during the day, (not the ironing though! lol) as when I am not picking siblings up, I am actually going to bed...ok ok its only the second full day of being facebook free, but I like this new found free spare time.

Right! we had better get on with this Magazine Giveaway ay!...as you can see these are two magazines that I have been featured in...The caravan magazine I was featured in back in last December, and PRIMA, I was featured in back in JULY.  The pictures have been taken from both magazines, so you can see what you can win.  The Vintage Caravan Magazine is an Australian Magazine and so jam packed with wonderful articles, caravan do-ups and Rockabilly chic...I will be bringing you snippets from the other Caravan magazines, over the next few months
...as I was given subscription for a year.
....And the other magazine is PRIMA an English Mag, full of everyday things and life...recipe's, thriftiest women articles, fashion and holidays...I gave a copy to my Mum and she said it was a jolly good read!
So my lovelies...are you up for it?
All you need to do is leave a comment on this post about the kind of magazines you like to read {and if anything} what you think is missing from magazines today.

You can have as many goes as you like with a different comment.

...And i will draw this next tuesday 4th September.

  1. You said it all about menopause! My husband doesn't understand why 'my get up and go got up and went'! I would love to be able to flip through the Vintage caravan magazine.

  2. Among my fave mags is Mary Jane's Farm. But, I didn't know there was a magazine about caravans!!! We also own a vintage beauty--a Yellowstone from the 60s; we think we are the third owners. I'd LOVE to see a caravan magazine!

  4. Oh Happs..I had my first hot flush the other day and kept thinking what am I getting embarrased for? then it clicked! How vile are they!!!? you have my sympathy girlie, I'm dreading it now!
Anyway, I have a bit of magazine obsession, I would buy about 10 a month if they weren't so expensive. I did like Milkcow magazine but it missed a trick not showing peoples homes, we used to know loads of people who had their homes decked out in 30s, 40s or 1950s style. If I brought a mag out tomorrow I'd call it 'Retro home' and feature just such homes and ones that feature the odd retro thing. Vintage life mag is ok but a bit cheesy and I do like trendy homes mags like Living etc or Elle decor. Out my budget but a girl can dream!! ('girl'ha!..a pre menopausal one)
I cant be doing with magazines like 'chat' or 'new' or whatever it's called, you know the ones with headlines like 'I married my horse and now he's gone off with my sister' I've got enough problems of my own without worrying about everyone else's!!
I do love the look of the vintage caravan mag, keep meaning to send off for that one. After that mini essay I'll be off now :)

  6. I LOL'd away at your post, as I have some of the same problems (as I type with fans blowing on me)! I would love to win as I bought the Romantic Homes that you are in here in the U.S. and adore UK Country Living!I can sometimes pick up UK magazines on ebay second hand. Also, a "caravan" is one of my dreams, especially the vintage ones! Most of the mags we get here in the states have too many ads.

  7. So glad you're back. I love vintage caravans and although I'm restoring one am always looking for another cheap one close to home. I would love the caravan mag.

  8. Have you ever had your thyroid checked Happy? I had the same symptoms as you and we are of a similar age. Turns out what I thought was menobrain was actually caused by underactive thyroid. It's common in ladies of our age!! Might be worth popping down the doctors and asking!

  10. Hi Happy!

    To be blunt, menopause bites!!

On a more fun note, I used to have a severe magazine addiction. I love magazines that have lovely homes, delicious recipes and pretty gardens. British magazines were my favorite. But Pinterest cured my addiction!! All of the things I mentioned at the click of the mouse...YAY!!

  11. I'm only at the very beginning of peri-menopause symptoms. No one told me about the hairs sprouting suddenly in weird and inconvenient places. I feel like I'm going through puberty again with the pimples.
Magazines. Mostly I ready information type magazines. National Geographic, Smithsonian. I also read quilting magazines for ideas and inspiration. One of my favorite mags is Mental Floss. It is a magazine for trivia junkies.

  12. I've had the grumps for a while, which is unfortunate for my poor family, and I do suspect it might be the start of things to come (I am of 'that age')..

As for magazines, I am a crafter so sometimes get card making mags, if the free gift looks worth it.

But I love nostalgia, the 1970s in particular, so would love someone to create an all things 70s culture magazine.

  13. I love reading decorating and craft magazines. I recently bought myself a little vintage travel trailer though and would love to look at some magazines dedicated to that... but we don't have any here in the US! So, I guess that's what I think is wrong with magazines today... there aren't any dedicated to vintage trailer enthusiasts!! :o)

  15. I do believe overseas magazines are alot better than magazines in the US. Magazines here are not as colorful, cherry,or have that good of a selection of good articles and also have too much adds. I love Country Living UK such a great magazines to drink with a cup of tea!! The Caravan magazine looks great !! So Hope to win both magazines!! Love your blog Rosie!!

  20. What an AWESOME giveaway! I am pretty much in love with a certain British magazine called Ideal Homes and I get it on the newsstand when I can. I would love to be able to subscribe but U.S. subscriptions are very expensive for this magazine! I have always been an avid magazine reader and my faves are Allure, Oprah Magazine, Glamour, Martha Stewart Living, Romantic Homes, Romantic Country, Ideal Homes and several others. I honestly can't think of anything that I feel is missing in today's mags. Reading them has always made me very happy!

  22. Thanks for the great give-a-way. I love magazines, an addiction I must admit. I loved Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion. I also like Country Living (both U.S. and British versions) and Mary Jane's Farm. I would never want to add up what I have spent over the years, but what joy they bring, just like your wonderful Web site. Take Care!

  27. [I love finding random blogs. They make me so happy. Yours made me giggle.]

I don't really read a whole lot of magazines; I suppose my favourite ones are the kind with plenty of blurbs.

  28. I have long loved magazines to a fault, but lately I've been less inspired by them, for some reason. I do currently enjoy Mollie Makes, MaryJane's Farm, Country Living (US and UK), Southern Living (US), Bon Appetit, a couple of German country living mags, and (still) Martha Stewart Living.

  29. I love Country Living UK, and have odd on and off visits with Victoria Bliss magazine and This England. I have an early 1980's caravan that isin desperate need of a makeover- the dark brown windows give me the creeps!

  30. With regards to what is missing from magazines- I think it is a sense of home- as opposed to property. Everything is about shopping, with "you too can have it all" as the values represented...often almost on the first pages of the magazine - "In our Emporium", or "We like..." Perhaps these pages would be better at the back?

  31. Country Living and Country HOme & Interiors are defo my favs but I also like Ideal Home and the Prima Christmas mag is a must buy! As I'm almost done doing up a caravan I would LOVE the vintage caravan mag :O) Must look out for it in Ireland.
