It was such a lovely day yesterday, the sun was shining and it was very warm indeed! So we decided to hit the road and have a ride out to a Boot Sale (Bootsale is the same kinda thing as a flea market/thrift store - but they are often outside and are run mainly in the summer season! people turn up with a boot load of unwanted items from their house and sell from the back of their car)....At last they have finally started, what a wait that was...the winter seemed to be longer than ever this year!

So this post is about what I managed to find...bearing in mind we had a lie in and never arrived there until quite late in the morning!...We were lucky enough to get these wonderful Dinkie cars...Look at the first picture...A circus, Morris Minor van and a wonderful red, white and blue caravan complete with awning!...and featured above is this wonderful Routemaster bus....with a Hamley's advert on the side...these lovelies were £2.00 each!

I was also fortunate enough to pick up this lovely green china jug with these beautiful hydrangea's....I just love these flowers...they remind me of my Nan's old garden back in Roehampton, many years ago...and since then they have always been a favorite.....this also was a bargain at £2.00.

This is another picture of them...and you can also see how much further I have got with the decorating!

I also managed to get this lovely little Cath Kidston tray....(featured above) and this was only 50p...I am sure this has been discontinued too! (I hope you are liking my new shelves!)

And lookee at this wonderful Picture Book...It was on the floor and I nearly didn't pick it up! (The knees lately have been playing up!!!LOL!)....Then I asked the price and the gentleman said £5.00, so I had to have a look at it then!....and would you look at this...

Inside there was many, many pictures of film stars...and plenty of information about them...their likes and dislikes etc...where they filmed this and that....I can't wait to read it this week, its absolutely divine :) off course I just had to have it...

Isn't this a lovely picture of Ginger Rogers....(above)

I hope you all had a wonderful day in the sunshine...and found wonderful items like me. Have a nice day and I'll be back soon with more interesting snippets :)

  6. Hi Happy - Thanks for dropping by my blog and taking the time to comment. You have a lovely, colourful blog here. The car boot season started round here yesterday too, but I have a cold and felt yukky so didn't go :-( Hopefully I'll make the next one.

    Take care :-)

  7. Hi Happy,
Lovely finds, my little person would have gone mad for the Dinky toys. Your house is looking absolutely fab. We went car booting too, it was such a gorgeous day for it. My prize find was a Lloyd Loom style crib painted the original primrose yellow. I'm about to go outside and give it a wash down. Then I'll be stashing my cushions in it (the cat has been in it already, of course)!

  12. What a lovely, lovely haul of stuff! The CK find is really impressive. I think that Linda (your first comment) should know that Car Boot Sales are most like Garage Sales (I got that info from the wonderful American-French blog Tongue in Cheek).

In France we call these wonderful events Vide Greniers ('Empty Attics') and I HAVEN'T BEEN TO ONE SINCE AUTUMN! Withdrawal symptoms are now even worse, having read your blog...

Thanks once again for your lovely blog.
