VARIFOCALS OR BUST

Ok Ok...So I have picked up my new glasses today! I got tested last week and they were ready to pick up today!...I have decided to go for varifocals...Hmmm! don't they take a bit of getting used to!...all I seem to be doing is moving my head up and down and side to side lol! I won't be wearing them all the time though as they are just for concentration work, as my long distance vision is fine.

I went for a retro tortoise shell look, actually they are huge! hehehe!
Audrey Hepburn style!

Have you ever tried varifocals?
and if so, how long did it take you to get used to them?

  1. I want to see them now you tease! The dog ate mine and I've got to get some new ones soon, I feel a prat driving in my sunglasses all the time. I haven't tried varifocals as I imagine they'd start giving me headaches as I would be doing exactly what you are ..up down, side to side, it takes me long enough to get used to plain new lenses!
(love that suitcase you bought for Fred..fab!) x

  2. Are they like trifocals? I have a bifocal that I wear at night when I want to watch TV and read at the same time..lol. During the day I don't need them at all. Weird, huh? I know when my Mom went to trifocals she had an awful time adjusting to them. Good luck- xo Diana

  3. Sick, that's what they made me feel lol!!!!!! So went for bifocals too in the end to ease me in!! I needed them for Reading and Computer work, needing them for driving will come soon, very soon, but at least I have been able to adapt to wearing glasses in the first instance with only a split lens and not three vision! Good luck!!

  4. I tried them but had to return them as I could not get on with them, made me feel queasy too, although I must admit I didn't try very hard! I know have bi-focals which are great, only need them for reading though, my vision sounds like yours. Must get my eyes tested again too (really just want new glasses!!)

  5. I had an eye test the other week - and they were mentioned for the future - gulp!

This time I have some nerd specs - I love them but the family are still giving me 'odd' looks - heyho thats just normal then!!

  6. I've been wearing them for about 5 years now. I'm terribly short sighted and now that I have "middle-aged" long sighted I had to switch to varifocals.

I've always worn glasses for such a long time but hav to admit they took a couple of weeks to get used to.

For the first few days I felt quite nauseous. You do get used to them in the end though :(

  7. I'm sure you look as stylish as evah! It took me a whole day, and an hour of the next morning to get used to them, and now I love them! Its been two years I've been wearing them…time to change Rx (yuck-pricey lenses)!

  8. Well I have what they call 'invisaline' the top is for distance and the bottom for close up with no dividing line. The first time I wore them I took right to them but my husband took ages and ages before he adjusted. I really think something was wrong with those as he now never complains about the ones he has.

  9. I'm picking mine up on Saturday. I need them for reading and for driving. I also need a further pair of plain lenses for computer work. I am a bit nervous as to how long it will take to get used to them. Nightmare!
