Awesome Pumpkin Halloween Decor

balloon dipped pumpkins
Awesome Pumpkin Halloween Decor.

Us Brit’s…well we don’t really decorate for Halloween like our friends from across the pond do…Ok, yes it is getting more popular with The Trick and Treating…but in general we tend not to decorate the whole house from the beginning of October…

…But just look on Pinterest or Flickr and you will see many people do…so I have searched around to bring you here some of my favourite and colourful peep’s that do indeedy decorate for the whole month.

hahaha! You all know me by now…what are my most ‘NO CAN DO’ colours???
YEP! Orange and Mauve! So as you can imagine it has been very difficult for me to find these pictures…there just aren’t any…but the one’s I have found here, I just love!

Mixed with the other bright colours…makes me kinda love orange…only in small doses though! I so love the idea of painting pumpkins…I s’pose people have been painting them for years…but being that I have been out of touch with all this milarkie, being that my children are adults…all we did back then was chop the daylights out of them…making scary faces and all!

The idea of painting or decoupaging them is so much more imaginative…

I remember back when I was about 6 years old, my school had a scary cellar that smelt of parafin and some of us kids decided to go down there one night, It was a Halloween night, the school was holding a spooky theatre production….but the memory is kind of fuzzy…but anyway, we all got spooked by the caretaker coming down there and telling us off…the fear in my little brain coupled with the smell of that parafin….{shiver} still makes my heart skip a beat when I smell parafin these days…even at my ripe old age of 28 38 forty something!

Brrrrr! Is it me…or is it getting cold in here!

BOOO!

Perhaps that is the reason, why I don’t like orange!…I don’t know…it’s funny isn’t it the things that you remember…especially when you hear a song or smell and smell…memories come flooding back dont they! weird!

I have provided the sources to all these beautiful pictures…plenty of talented people behind them, lots of inspiration for you all..and perhaps you will want to decorate your houses a little bit sooner, because with ideas like these….who wouldn’t!

Less is More

Hello Guys and Gals…
I have been pondering lately…you know me! forever the procrastinator!
I want my house to be less cluttery and more light! Now i am not sure how i am to achieve this, because i am already a busy lass! But I do feel our house is a little tired of the things that I have in it….some things need to go and some will have to stay…

I have had a little go at it….I totally cleared out my garage and a lot of things in my cupboards and took them all to a boot sale near me and what I didn’t sell I donated to a lady that was selling opposite me (you can read about that here) therefore i returned home clutter free yay!

I love the picture above to decorate my caravan inside…Freddy can’t get in there anymore…and the decor is so much different to what it was like before!,,,he had collected a lot of dollies heads lol…and right at this moment they are in there in all their glory lol!…so it is now up to me to make it into a little haven for myself instead!…

These pictures that you see before you are pictures that seem to be inspiring me lately…I think I have done with the kitsch element in my decoration and want to go back to how we used to decorate a few years ago now, with perhaps more pastely colours and more French Shabby Chic…

I also love this pale blue…I have this in the bathroom, but the floor boards really do set this picture off lovely…and there is not much going on in this little corner…that’s something i am going to have to get to grips with…LESS IS MORE!

I wonder…I wonder if I can actually remember this when I am sorting out all my JUNK clutter Antiques!

I have always been a red, white and blue gal, but I feel I would like to add a few more pastels into the mix and really pull back on the 1970’s kitsch patterns…

Ideas have been going round and round in my head…I think I have got to go with the less is more theme…otherwise one day I will be trapped under a landslide of clutter haha!

I love the photography of Fiona Murray {pic below} and looking at her work got my heart beating…also I love Jenny and Aaron from Everyday is a Holiday they create cake shop masterpieces in pastels like no other…just reading her blog has made me fall in love with candy colours all over again!

The darker evenings will be drawing in soon, but lets not think that we can not declutter and that that kind of job is just for the spring! I plan (hopefully) to have a less cluttery space by Christmas!…and if I am not pulling my socks up and getting on with it!

You have permission to nag tell me *wink*

Copyright in the UK – How To Protect Your Work

roses red spot enamel teapot
Copyright laws in the UK are relatively well known. Following the explosion of online content, everyone seems to be at least vaguely familiar with when and how you would be breaking these laws. Of late, however, I have noticed a growing trend of people who don't seem to be as knowledgeable when it comes to actually copyrighting their work in the first place; and just because it's yours, doesn't mean somebody else can't take it. Here's how to ensure your work is protected.
red rose
Copyright Symbols

Whatever it is your looking to copyright, the simplest way to ensure it remains yours is to include the copyright symbol (©), your name and the year of publication at the foot of every web page. For example, simply writing something like “Copyright © John Smith 2014” will actually prove to be a legally binding notice of copyright should somebody steal a photograph of your production, a piece of text or anything displayed on the copyrighted page.
forgetmenots
Terms of Use

Next, another good way to ensure your work is appropriately copyrighted is to include a Terms of Use section on your website, whereby you state explicitly that the work contained is not for reproduction. Simply include a few choice legal phrases to make it clear that you own the work. These include the no-frills “All rights reserved,” for a basic warning, or include something like “any unauthorised broadcasting, public performance, copying or re-recording will infringe copyright” to be explicitly clear.

Digital Protection

The final tip is to attach some form of digital protection to your work. Especially valid in the cases of photographs, digitally watermarking your images will mean that the copyright information is embedded into the pixels of the image. While the image will show up clear on your site, if it is reproduced elsewhere the watermark will appear alongside all of the relevant copyright information. Other examples of digital protection also include using password protected PDFs or encrypting files. Unfortunately, however, the use of these will mean that only select people with the correct credentials can access your work.

What to do if someone steals your work?

Now, as long as you have applied at least some of the above advice to your work, it is, in theory, fully copyright protected. This means that the moment somebody reproduces it, you have every right to exhaust all of the legal alleyways at your disposal.

If you're happy with the website by simply removing the image, the best course of action would be to courteously email the website and request them to take it down. In the case that they don't reply or refuse, however, contact the webhoster. These can range from WordPress to Blogger, and as long as you can prove that it is your content displayed they will swiftly remove it.

If you want to take it a step further, though, and seek financial reparations for the theft of your intellectual property, then first take counsel from an experienced legal team, such as that on offer over at Coles Solicitors. In this event, you will again need to prove that the image is yours, as well as providing evidence of all of the steps you took to make it clear that the content was copyrighted.
