My Family

This is my lovely dad, who passed away on 17th March, 1987 I miss him terribly. He loved photography and used to develop his own pictures back in the 1950’s, this is a picture he took of himself and my cousins Pam and Anne with Sandy the poodle.

This is a picture of my Nanny Hilda and Grandad Alf (he was the first person to introduce me to Jellied Eels – I love em!)…and my auntie Jill and Auntie Joyce. (pic taken in the 1950’s)

This is a picture of my mother as a young girl being a bridesmaid, she is 19 years old here and the wedding was in Hamersmith, London.

And here she is again, I love this picture…..

Mum, Nanny Hilda, Auntie Joyce, and a neighbour.

This is a picture of my Mum and Auntie Joyce with their brother Roy.

…and this is a piccy of my dad and his brothers and sisters at Potters holiday camp in the 1950’s – how cool do they all look!

Bye for nowluv happy x

Hi, Ive just found your lovely blog and have really enjoyed reading it. I love your photos, and those that your late father had taken, and for giving an insite into your daily life. I, too have had my gall bladder our, so totally understand the pain! If you do decide to go private reading, I’d love to be on your invite only list. P.s Shock about the story in St Mary’s Island.

Aren’t you lucky to have a photographer like that in the family to keep such special memories? I love old photos even if I don’t know the people in them.they always show such emotion.I would love an invite to your blog if that’s okay.I hope nothing happened to make you upset. Some people are very judgemental and small minded I know. Delighted you’re back – but I read on Linen and Roses the reason why you vanished- very scary! completely understand and will no longer hide in a cupboard crying about it! xx Love the photoes. I once knew a darling little girl who would announce to anyone willing to listen “I am my mummy’s little passion flower” – there was 16 years between her and the next youngest! Does Uncle Roy answer to Passionflower?! The holiday pictures are the best hard-working folk who really knew the meaning of time off! And why is the neighbour wearing a fez?! Wonderful to have you back! t.x

Sorry… It`s me again! After browing your beautiful blog… I`ve noticed that you do banners for blogs… and I was wondering if you would do one for me?I very much like the one that you did (friday, 24 august 2007) and I was wondering if you would do a very similar one… with the same background, roses, buttons… but, where there`s clothes I would prefer to be some vintage ladies portraits (as seen on my blog on the right hand side) and some vintage items also, like chandeliers or pretty tea cups… If you agree to do so, please let me know, how much will cost and also, you can contact me trhough my blog or my email address:debbie.moss21@btinternet.comLooking forward to hear from you…Kisses KissesDebbiexxx

Hi Happy I’ve not had much luck lately getting to your blog page it keeps telling me I’m not invited, one could think I wasn’t welcome 🙁 and I love reading you blog so much.the photos are fab, my Nanna was called Hilda and I’ve got a Uncle Micheal. The names from the past days, they come back don’t they? My girls are Molly and Daisy, hope they love them as much as we do. And understand why we choose old names.Hope your well and that the children have got the results they wanted for the exams taken.HugsCatherine x

Hi Happy, I’m so glad you haven’t dissappeared for good..well for the moment anyway! Your wonderful pictures alone make my morning before I trudge off to work!I do know what you mean about attention spans though…it seems a lot of people in blogland are feeling the same way,me included.I love this post..old photos are so fab, so different from today. They all look so jolly and a good laugh..anyone who calls a poodle Elvis, sounds a good laugh to me anyway! What a great family. Everyone seemed to have a posed professional photo taken at some point back then too, something we are really a bit stuffy about doing today. That one of your mum is lovely, she looks beautiful.. what gorgeous skin and a smile that lights up her face. I know my photos old and new, are the most treasured of my possessions..you know, the thing you would rescue if your house caught fire (heaven forbid!)well it’s great to hear you again, thanks for the invite! xoh and best of luck with the new website..looks fab so far!

Hi,I love these photos, there is something about old black and white photography. Thanks so much for the invitation to your blog, I had been really disappointed when I tried to visit and found that it was invitation only.Did something happen to make you want to change it? I hope not, hopefully it was just for your own reasons and not because of something that somebody has done.I know what you mean about getting bored with blogging, I love it but do go through spells where I just can’t think of anything to say and then I wonder if my blog has run its course. Then I think of all the time and effort I have put into it and I just can’t bring myself to stop.Take a break every now and then, we will still be here when you return.Racheal x
