Look what just dropped on the Mat of the Happy Household! All these vintage chippy goodies was too much eye candy not to take a ride to the Kings Road Cath Kidston, to check out the latest new arrivals, because I wanted this :-
….and this….I particularly wanted the light blue bag with the red roses, as I love those colours, it reminds me of the strawberry print, that was one of her first prints :-
And look!
how can you resist this on the back page – all this was enough to make us take a ride up to London on the very next saturday.
…and this is what we came home with – a lovely cushion in this, my favourite print of the moment, the coffee pot and the teddy are our own! It all just looks so divine together doesn’t it x
We managed to get, the toad stool pin cushion and the button and pin tins….we also got the extra large table cloth which works out so much cheaper buying the material this way, you get 2.5 metres for £35.00, which if bought by the metre works out to £50.00 (don’t tell cath I said that!)
[UPDATE]
Remember this was back in 2007 when they had lovely vintage prints – These days Cath no longer has a stake in the business and you can definitely tell…Collaborations with Disney! Harry Potter! and Beatrix Potter to name a few! Why! The brand is not the same anymore and I haven’t bought anything from there for a good few years now.
I have even tried to sell my Cath Kidston wares that I no longer want at a couple of bootfairs over this last year, but people are just not interested anymore! Oh don’t get me wrong there is probably still a fan base, but us old hardened fans from back in the day have fallen out of love now, as rather than taking inspiration from the chippy old prints of yesteryear, they have a new team of designers, designing for a new generation and it’s just is not for me anymore.

I also bought some material from the bargain basket. (the pink rose fabric featured above) and I also managed to get the lovely Holdall featured above, from the catalogue, which I have used so many times, I love it!
…This new collection [Please note this is a current link to the new stock that is in store currently! which is not anything to do with the old stock that is featured in this post! unfortunately!]
…is fabulous, I absolutely adore it all, especially if you love sewing, the new cottage sewing box, which I didn’t buy and now regret is absolutely adorable [and these days sells for a lot of money on Ebay, so if you have one now is the time to sell it TO ME! lol!]
The sewing basket is soo nice, but too expensive for me I’m afraid. The shipping costs to Belgium are too high…Oh well, I can always look at it!
Bad Hayley…because of you I have been on the UK Cath site. Do you have any idea what it would cost me to get those lovely sewing things that I adore in your photos? Well, I do because I converted the pounds to US dollars and then, considered shipping, and…made myself walk away from the computer…If they open an American site again and still have those items…I, well…can’t be held responsible for what I might do…and it will be ALL YOUR FAULT…great photos! Hollyhocks
