Valentine Ephemera

Yes, Valentines Day is coming around pretty quickly, so I thought it would be a good idea to add some of my cherished vintage valentines cards...I have used them to make card toppers with in the past and thought it would be nice to share them with you, so that you have enough time to make some sweet valentines cards yourselves.

you can use them to make cards with or send to your loved one via email.

They are so cute...I am not sure about the copyright on these...so its best just to use them for your own personal use I would think.

I hope you like them x

Animal Crackers

I seem to have a bit of an animal theme running through the Happy House at the moment!

Although Dogs are my favourite...
I can't resist a cute little face, when I am out and about hunting for treasures.

...And when I get home, I always manage to find a little space for them to live!

These little deeries, I decided to keep out after Christmas, as they looked very cosy, to me, in this spot next to the tea caddy.

Now look! Roses, you just can't miss here at Happy's...
But the little animals love living in amongst all the pretty foliages.

What little collections have you been creeping into your home recently?

Oh and a Happy Weekend to you all.

Decoupaged Table with Vintage Maps

Freddy had been itching to get Christmas out the way so he could claim the dining room table for his crafting,!

However unknown to me! he had the bright idea of decoupaging it with a 1960's atlas before he started! At first it was a shock but I must admit it looks better than it did before.

Ha Ha...he knew he did NOT dare get his Tim Holtz inks out on my beautiful Vintage red rose table cloth!

If your curious to see my Freddie's work,  you can check out his FLICKR HERE..

The Vintage Caravan Interviews - Miss Maizy

My name is Tania Pelletier and I live in Washington State in the US. My caravan (we call them campers or trailers here in the US) was purchased from an ad I saw online from a nearby town. My dad and I drove about an hour to see it and it was love at first sight! When I got the thumbs up from my dad (checking out all the guy stuff) I was in heaven! We pulled her to my parents house and immediately got to work fixing her up! Here are a couple before shots:

I have wanted a vintage camper since I first saw one years ago in a magazine. It had been converted into a gardening shed and it was fixed up so adorable! I was married at the time and my husband said "no" :o( So... I got rid of my husband and got myself a camper instead! Good trade I think!
It took my dad and I about one whole summer working just on the weekends. Most of what needed to be done was cosmetic although we did find a broken sink pipe and other little annoyances along the way.

So far I have only been able to camp in it once but that is my plan... glamping!!! She has travelled about 280 miles on our first trip. Right now Miss Maizy is parked at the top of my driveway looking all cute waiting for summer to roll around again!

To describe the style I have decorated her in... she's just girly cute! I went with aqua colors since the stove and icebox were aqua. She has aqua and white polka dot curtains, I reupholstered the dinette seats in tartan plaid (a nod to her Scotsman name), bought a new futon mattress for the back bed (cheaper than buying new foam) and painted the inside crisp white and wallpapered the ceiling with wallpaper that looks like tin ceiling tiles! She also got brand new countertops and tabletop in a retro design. Here are some interior pictures:

We shortened the top bunk so it is now just a shelf for vintage suitcases.

We added a tiny little shelf to the left of the kitchen sink above the window near the bed and made a map covered board to fit over the stove when it's not in use... I needed all the extra counter space I could find!

My mom painted this adorable little sign on an old cupboard door!
(below)

I made lots and lots of pillows!

Even one shaped like a little trailer!

Below is the chalkboard wall next to the doorway!
...and my favorite part is the inside of the closet that I wallpapered with old maps, I love this little detail!

The ceiling tin wallpaper was purchased on eBay, the new countertops were ordered from a local flooring company. They are Formica brand in the retro "dog bone" pattern. The super comfy futon mattress was purchased from Overstock.com. The rest is all stuff I've made or found thrifting!

The exterior was painted with Rustoleum brand white gloss paint that we sprayed on. The detail scallops were added with spray paint in aqua. I wanted something that was different than most vintage campers and was easy enough to do on our own.

...And viola!
Thank you to Tania for sharing her experiences of her Caravan Makeover...doesn't it look lovely in the Aqua blue tones....if you fancy visiting her, she blogs over HERE and don't forget to tell her Happy sent cha! ;)

Bye for now my lovelies x

A Happy Retro Blythe Doll

Well would you lookee here, what a find, my lovely posey dolly is indeedy, isn't she just the cutest little honey bee and she also happens to have a little Max in tow too!

I found her the other day whilst battling around in the epic wind and rain that has been November, December and January!  There I was minding my own business, when I glanced into the window of this cute little thrift shop...well I say glanced, huh! I was almost thrown into the window by a gust of wind, but that doesn't sound half as romantic!

...and there she was...standing there in the window all fine and dandy...just waiting for me to pick her up and purchase, which I promptly did, as the price tag was very in my budget, especially for dreary penniless January!

When I arrived home, tired and windswept, I made a cup of rosey lea (Tea) and lit the fire and sat on the couch with my feet up, where I opened the package that she had been dandily wrapped in...I was so excited to finally introduce myself to her, she is so darn cute and as I took her out of the packaging and laid my eyes on her, it was instant love.

She really is as cute as the picture shows, that blonde whispy hair and pinky netted dress, oh and those big blue eyes, I am so smitten, I found a peachy perfect little corner for her and snapped this piccy to share with you all.

Isn't it just so fanbloomingtastic, when you go out and find something so fine and dandy that it just makes you want to burst at the seams...

My Posie Rosie Pinkie Peachy Perfect Dolly has done just that!
