Well here we are folks...and just in time for Christmas...I have loved the build up to it, as I always do...all the buying and making chrimbo pressies...wrapping them up and decorating the house with vintage and modern decs.
Its been a lot easier too! and as it has been so cold and icy out there I have got alot of my pressies online....Fred (my hubby) loves his scrapbooking, so I have known what to buy for him! and Rosie gave me a long list and told me just to pick a few items for her....Bless!
I bought these boots, just in time for more snow to arrive! ....and don't you just love them?
When I saw them...I squeeled and just had to buy a pair, as they are just like Converse's, but in wellie form! with real laces....mine are still a bit new at the moment...but it won't be long before they have dirtied up a bit!
Don't you just love them :o) Get yours HERE and tell them Happy sent ya :o)
My Christmas Decoration post is coming up next...sorry its a bit late :)!
My lovely Mum invited me along to one of her outings that she arranges for the WHSmiths retirement group...my Dad used to work for them and my Mum has organised the outings for this group for about 25 years now...
Before I show you how we have decorated for Christmas at the Happy House this year...I thought I would show you some pictures from previous years....and have a little old natter at the same time :)
Christmas is such a Happy time of year and I love to go mad! (don't we all!) and for years now I have loved the decorations and all the rushing around....probably more than the day itself!....as once the presents are opened and you have a rather large dinner in your belly...you tend to sleep entirely through the Queens speech! (shhh! I didn't say that! lol!)
Thank you so much for all my lovely Birthday wishesl....you see it is and has always been a very special day indeed! for I was born on My Dads birthday! Yes, this is him (below) with my Mum in the black and white pic and also
in the heart picture frame, that is also his Mary Magdalen, that he
always had placed by his bedside for as long as I knew him. Very sadly
he passed away 24 years ago now...a very long time ago, but as you can
imagine, I still miss him ever so much!
So you can imagine that my birthday, is shared with thoughts of him and I couldn't possibly do this post without mentioning him. I lit a candle for him, as indeed I do every year. He was a great inspiration to me, and you will often find me chatting away to him, as I always feel that he is with me....and more so in this house, as I often can smell the tobacco that he used to smoke on our landing :)....
Freddy always buys me roses for my birthday, as you know how much I love them....and this year he chose these lovely pink ones...Oh I just so love pink, Rosie also bought me a little rose plant...which I adore!
It was until I started to look through my pictures that I realised how much I actually love flowers....and not just any old flower either! But Roses! they have been my favourite flower forever!
Right from laying them, with my Dad, as a little girl on my Nanna's grave to my lovely hubby sending me 24 red roses the day after we first met!
....and it wasnt until the other day when I decided to look through our pile of quilts that I realised how far the addiction had got...you see I decided to sell some (quilts) on a well known auction site to raise some money for chrimbo!
When I came across these two below a crocheted one and this pretty duck edged blue durham quilt...these had been lost and tucked away in amoungst all the others...I was thrilled to find them!
I was watching Kirstie's Homemade Home on catchup last night and to my surprise, I watched and drooled over her lovely new addition that she found at the lincolnshire Antiques Fair.....
For it was our Holivan in miniture! I am sitting here tapping my fingers on the table! Waiting! and I am still waiting for that phone call! for I am sure she bought it with me in mind!....I know! Perhaps she is saving it for me until Christmas!
Yes it will be a lovely surprise!....I'll wait a little longer then Kirstie, :)
Hello gals! today I had a brainwave! I know! I know! It doesn't happen that often! lol....but as I have left the garden to overgrow quite a bit lately! I need a gardener! Badly! I decided to tie the BIG WEED type thingy in the front garden up with some HAPPY ribbon!
Why oh Why I hear you holla....because this contraption does look rather SAD!
I am desperately trying to write a blog...but I am finding it very difficult! there are so many things I want to say - but I can't get the words out in the right order....
I am still here and I want to write about so many things....but I just have no energy or want!...Yeah I am contradicting myself there a bit aren't I...but that is the way I am feeling...I am in an 'any how' mood...and it has been going on for a few months now!
Hello gals, I have been a busy bee lately and havn't had any time to sit still ! so my apologies!...for not blogging sooner!....but before I explain all! I just wanted to show you my latest blog design (above) forViolet Adelaide....Yes yes! I am still designing blogs and websites! soif your are interested!...you know! to have a little treat, before the christmas rush and all that :)....then CLICK HERE to get your order in, so that you can be done and dusted before the celebrations!
I have also listed card scrapbooking packs - perfect for those little stocking fillers. There are plenty to choose from and are such a delight to create.
Thanks to you all for wishing my lovely Mum Good Luck in my last post....she was very brave and went ahead with the operation, the doctor told her, that she would be able to use the palm of her left hand still, so that made her mind up!
I am off this weekend to visit my Mum, she needs an operation and I will be traveling the 20 miles to London to take her there.
I will be travelling in my little car...Hopefully if hubby hasn't parked it in the middle of the road and it hasn't been smashed to pieces! LOL!(see post a little way down!)
I shall be leaving my poor hubby to do the washing up and stuff, but bless, he can't do much these days, so I am sure Rosie will help him :)
Its our anniversary on sunday...we have been married 23 years, so we promised ourselves that we will celebrate next week sometime, once I know my Mum is ok :)
No doubt we will be drinking plenty of tea to help Mum get over the op...its only a lump on her finger, but she is 80, although you would never believe it! but we are very worried about it because she has had dislocated hips from birth and she uses her arms all the time, so if there are any complications, we will have to see if it will be worth her while to have the op, but I'll let you all know when I get back :)
